Questions Business Owners Ask Us

Straight answers, no sales gloss. Anything missing? Call or text (909) 500-3241 and ask the owner directly.

How much does it cost to get a vending machine for your business?

It costs $0 — OSO Vending provides the machine or smart cooler, delivery, installation, restocking and all maintenance completely free. We earn from the products sold inside, not from you. There is no lease, no service fee and no contract. All your business provides is the floor space and a standard electrical outlet.

What is a smart cooler and how is it different from a vending machine?

A smart cooler is a glass-door fridge you tap a card on, open, take what you want, and close — the door locks and charges you automatically for exactly what you removed. Unlike a traditional vending machine there are no coils to jam, no selection numbers to key in, and it holds items a spiral machine physically cannot: sandwiches, Lunchables, fresh food, protein shakes and full-size drinks. OSO Vending specialises in these, and they are what we recommend first for most Southern California workplaces.

Are free vending machines really free? What is the catch?

There is no catch — OSO Vending covers the equipment, delivery, installation, restocking and every repair, because our revenue comes from product sales. There are no contracts and no cancellation fees: if it is not working out, we come and remove the machine free of charge. The only thing we ask for is the space and a power outlet.

How many employees do I need to qualify for a free vending machine?

OSO Vending has no minimum employee count — we evaluate every location on its own merits. Several national vending companies publish a 40-employee minimum before they will place anything. We are a small local operator, so a 15-person office, a single-shift warehouse or an apartment clubhouse can absolutely qualify, often with a smart cooler rather than a full bank of machines.

How fast do you respond when a machine breaks or takes someone’s money?

OSO Vending gets a technician out the same day in most cases, and within 24 hours at the latest. Refunds are handled just as fast: if a product does not drop, we send the money straight back by Zelle — usually the same day the customer reports it, with no forms to fill in and no waiting for a cheque. That response speed is the main reason locations switch to us from a national provider.

How do I get a refund from an OSO Vending machine?

Scan the QR code on the machine or go to osovending.com/feedback, tell us what happened, and we send your refund by Zelle — usually the same day. You can also call or text (909) 500-3241. We do not ask you to mail anything in or wait for a monthly cheque run.

Do I have to sign a contract? Are there cancellation fees?

No — OSO Vending works with no contracts, no minimum term and no cancellation fees. If the machine is not earning its keep or your headcount changes, tell us and we remove it free. We would rather keep a location because the service is good than because a document says we can.

What areas of Southern California does OSO Vending serve?

OSO Vending runs routes from Los Angeles down to San Diego, covering Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino and San Diego counties. We are locally owned and operated — our own people stock and service every machine, so a call about a location in Riverside or Carlsbad reaches the same team that installed it.

How long does it take to get a machine installed?

Most OSO Vending installations happen within days of the site visit, not weeks. We look at your space and power, agree the right mix of smart cooler and vending equipment, then deliver it stocked and ready to use. Larger multi-machine or micro market builds take a little longer because the layout is planned around your breakroom.

Do your machines take credit cards, Apple Pay and Google Pay?

Yes — every OSO Vending machine and smart cooler takes tap-to-pay cards, Apple Pay and Google Pay alongside cash. Cashless payment is not optional in vending any more: locations that only take bills see noticeably lower sales, and smart coolers require a card tap to open the door at all.

Can we choose what goes in the machine?

Yes — you tell us what your team actually wants and we stock it, then adjust based on what sells. That includes healthier lines (baked chips, protein bars, nuts, zero-sugar drinks), specific brands your crew keeps asking for, and seasonal swaps. Anyone at the location can also request a product through osovending.com/feedback without going through management.

What is a micro market?

A micro market is an unattended, open shelf-and-cooler store inside your breakroom, with a self-checkout kiosk instead of a machine front. It carries several times the variety of a vending machine — fresh food, salads, sandwiches, full-size drinks, snacks and sundries — and works best at locations with roughly 75 or more people on site. OSO Vending designs, installs and restocks micro markets across Southern California at no cost to the host business.

Do you place machines at warehouses and facilities that run multiple shifts?

Yes — warehouses, distribution centres and manufacturing plants are core OSO Vending accounts. Machines and smart coolers run 24/7, so swing and graveyard crews get the same access as day shift, and we schedule restocking around your shift changes rather than ours.

Can apartment communities and gyms get a smart cooler?

Yes — apartment clubhouses, gyms and studios are some of the strongest smart cooler locations, because residents and members want cold drinks and protein at the exact moment the leasing office or front desk is closed. OSO Vending places these free, and a 24/7 cooler in an amenity space is a resident perk that costs the property nothing.

Who owns and services the machines — do you subcontract?

OSO Vending owns the equipment and our own people service it — nothing is subcontracted to a third-party route company. That is why the response time is what it is: the person you call is the person who can fix it, and there is no ticket queue in another state between you and a repair.

What does it cost the host business if the machine gets damaged?

Nothing — OSO Vending owns and insures the equipment, so normal wear, breakdowns and service calls are all on us. We only ask that the machine sits somewhere reasonably supervised, on a level floor, with a dedicated outlet nearby.

Answer wasn't here?

One call or text reaches the person who owns the machines.
